Disasters nowadays have covered every press and newspapers. Media reporters heading all over the world to get the latest updates and deliver the best and detailed report you want to hear and as much as possible, drawing near to the incident. But tragedy is not the news that we want to hear. Families dying here and there, getting covered with soil due to earth quake and landslide, fishing boats getting smashed by typhoons, natural habitats damaged by flood, woods burnt, and many more. Do we really have to let them take our lives without a fight? Are you ready if catastrophes will hit your home or even face it in front of you? This it's time we need to get ready ourselves and also for our loved ones.
Here are some tips and things you should know when disaster strikes:
Keep a list of reliable contact info on your friends, families, nearby authorities station and your insurance provider.
Be sure you have a flashlight with spare batteries, blankets, matches, table lamps, lighter, first aid kit, and other handy stuffs you need.
Make sure you have canned goods for food supply and bottled water in store.
Make sure you have inventory of all your belongings so you can report it to your insurance providers in any case and store them in a safe place.
When disaster strikes, be prepared emotionally, mentally, and physically because you need a lot of them.
Do not panic, well at least try not to. Think right before you act.
Check yourself if you can handle things correctly especially if you lack physical fitness.
Know what disasters will more likely hit your place just like the disasters that are prawn in your city. At least you already anticipated them.
Keep yourself up to date with the news and weather forecast.
Educate your neighbors, friends, families, and relatives if you know that a disaster will hit their place.
Formulate your preparedness plan in any case and familiarize it. So if ever you lost it, you still can execute the plan.
